Economics and Poverty

We are still feeling the effects of the 2007-8 financial crisis with the current austerity programme resulting in cuts to public spending and benefits.

The churches have spoken both individually and collectively against public policy which results in an increase in hardship for those in society who are less well off, often through no fault of their own.
