Closer relations between UK Church leaders is one sign of the Church revival to come said Pastor Agu Irukwu, Pentecostal President of Churches Together in England (CTE), speaking at the Vineyard Churches National Leaders’ Conference.
Comparing the current situation to 1 Kings 18:41 (onwards) where Elijah heard the sound of heavy rain and sent his servant seven times to look for a cloud, Pastor Agu said ‘people are looking in the wrong places so they don’t see the cloud’.
Among other signs, Pastor Agu said he has met and prayed with the leaders of the Orthodox churches as well as the Archbishop of Canterbury, and that some of his church leaders hold regular meetings with Church leaders of other denominations once a month to pray for their community and their city.
‘Please let no-one tell me I haven’t seen a cloud’, said Pastor Agu, ‘God is waiting for the Elijah Church to catch the spirit of prayer that Elijah had’.
