Just two Syrian families have resettled in the UK six months after the launch of the British Government’s community refugee sponsorship scheme, reports Focus on Refugees.
There are fears that the slow progress risks squandering the potential efforts of hundreds of volunteers that are ready to help.
The scheme was launched at Lambeth Palace by Home Secretary Amber Rudd with the help of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, in July 2016.
