A group of Irish Christians who were moved by the international recordings of Elevation Worship’s The Blessing have created an adapted Irish response – an initiative for Christian people from all of the Irish churches to join together seeking God’s blessing on the people of Ireland and to join voices in praise of God on Pentecost Sunday.
They chose a song, Be Thou My Vision, that would resonate across the island, with every denomination and cultural grouping and one that could be used as a platform to sing a blessing over their land, key-workers and those they are caring for.
The recording was produced from 420 submissions by 300 churches and Christian organisations across Ireland. Every vocal and instrumental audio recording submitted has been included in the audio mix, although it was technically impossible to feature everyone in the video.
Full details are on The Irish Blessing website.
In early May a recording was released of over 65 churches and movements, representing hundreds of others, singing a blessing over the UK.
