A Solemn Evensong of Thanksgiving for the Canonisation of St Oscar Romero will take place on Saturday 17 November 2018 at 3pm at Westminster Abbey.
Co-sponsors for the service include the Archbishop Romero Trust, Churches Together in England (CTE), Christian Aid and CAFOD. Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Catholic Church in England and Wales, will give the Address.
Oscar Romero was the martyred archbishop of San Salvador who loved and defended the poor while denouncing violations of human rights and terrible conditions. He worked ecumenically, especially with the Baptist and Lutheran communities in El Salvador.
