Aid to the Church in Need has published its latest global Religious Freedom in the World Report. This seeks to highlight areas of the world where religious persecution limits the rights of individuals to practice their faith and shows the improvement or decline of religious freedom in each country.
Evidence of significant religious freedom violations were found in 38 countries and the situation for minority faith groups had deteriorated in 18 of those countries.
The 2018 report examines the two-year period up to and including June 2018 and assesses the religious situation of every country in the world. The country reports explore the often complex relationship between religion and other related factors such as politics, economy and education.
