This year, resources for Racial Justice Sunday are available from the United Reformed Church (URC) and the Catholic Church in England and Wales, plus there are resources related to Black History Month from the Baptist Union of Great Britain that could also be adapted. They can be used on Racial Justice Sunday or any time through the year.
Racial Justice Sunday is 9 February 2020 but it can be a Sunday of your choice.
URC
Resources from the United Reformed Church (URC) focus on ‘whiteness as a construct of privilege and oppression’.
They consist of sermon ideas, prayers, poetry, liturgies, laments, reparations, stories and hymns.
Resources have been prepared by the Global and Intercultural Ministries of the URC.
Download the URC Racial Justice Sunday 2020 resource (from the URC website).
Catholic Church
The Catholic Church in England and Wales has a theme of ‘You are at the heart of the Church’ and will celebrate the contribution Travelling Communities make to the Church in England and Wales.
Resources for Racial Justice Sunday, including a Prayers of the Faithful, a pledge card and poster, are available to download from the Catholic Church in England and Wales website. There are also links to websites related to the theme.
Baptist Union of Great Britain
Resources related to Black History Month from the Baptist Union of Great Britain could also be adapted for Racial Justice Sunday.
