Churches Together in England (CTE) is co-sponsoring events for the centenary of Oscar Romero’s birth and the 37th since his martyrdom.
There will be a National Ecumenical Service in St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Trafalgar Square, London at 11am on Saturday 25 March to celebrate the centenary.
Oscar Romero was the martyred archbishop of San Salvador who loved and defended the poor while denouncing violations of human rights and terrible conditions. He worked ecumenically, especially with the Baptist and Lutheran communities in El Salvador.
