Movement Day UK is a two day gathering of Church leaders, and leaders and practitioners (emerging and established) from many areas of society, who share a heart for the transformation of their towns and cities.
It takes place at Westminster Central Hall, London on 6-7 October 2017.
It is aimed at those who share a passion to see their places transformed in every area of culture, characterised by spiritual, cultural and social change, and recognise there is a need to work together.
It will address questions such as:
- What would happen if we worked more strategically together?
- How could our towns and cities be in 20-30 years’ time?
- How do we imagine and work towards transformation?
- What is the role of the gospel and the Church in this?
There will be opportunities to:
- Relationally connect, network and build new partnerships.
- Hear and share stories of unity, collaboration and transformation. Stories of success and also learning from failure.
- Explore best practice and grapple with the real challenges we face in the Church and specific areas of society.
- Pray and worship together – demonstrating that the Gospel crosses all boundaries.
- Be better equipped as an ‘agent of transformation’ and look at ways to strategically and intentionally work together.
- Deepen our understanding and application of the role of the gospel and Church in the transformation of our society.
- Explore specific subjects and issues related to unity, transformation and areas of society we are most closely connected to.
Churches Together in England (CTE)
CTE has agreed to be one of the many organisations working in partnership to co-badge the conference.
Jim Currin, the CTE member of staff for Evangelisation, Mission and Media, says that 500 delegates have already booked for Movement Day UK and CTE will be contributing in several ways, including through a stream with the theme of Transforming Our Communities. CTE is working closely with Roger Sutton, Director of the Gather network and the host of MDUK.
Several CTE Presidents are taking part in Movement Day. Revd Canon Billy Kennedy is involved in some of the planning as a leader of one of the Gather groups. His Grace Bishop Angaelos, who is also moderator of the CTBI trustees, is a main key note speaker.
