Join the Racial Justice Advocacy Forum on 15 February 2023 for its official launch at Bloomsbury Baptist Church in London from 7pm. The launch will take the form of a church service at which attendees will hear about the RJAF’s various activities and engagements since its inception in 2021.
The RJAF seeks to speak prophetically on behalf of Black and Brown Christians to the Government on racial injustice challenges and reparations, and comprises of representatives from various Christian institutions, parachurch groups and Christians of all traditions in Britain and Ireland.
Revd Wale Hudson Roberts, Justice Enabler for the Baptist Union, says: ‘The RJAF aims to be a bridge between the Church, Black and Brown communities and the government. Our work is undergirded by our collective theological positions on justice for those who experience racial or ethnic discrimination. The Bible shapes who we are and what we do.’
The service will be celebratory in nature; commending the RJAF’s work into God’s hands, and be an opportunity for would-be justice seekers to join it, and share in its vital work. The launch will also include the announcement of the RJAF’s work to equip church leaders on improving their engagement with the police and authorities as well as a ‘reparations’ conference in October 2023.
