In an article for Salvationist, General Secretary of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI), Dr Nicola Brady, talked to Lieutenant-Colonel Jonathan Roberts, Territorial Ecumenical Officer for the Salvation Army, about her role and the work of CTBI.
The discussion covered CTBI’s work on the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, creating space for inter-church engagement on a British-Irish basis, issues relating to climate justice, racial justice and interfaith dialogue, plus supporting global ecumenical forums such as the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Conference of European Churches (CEC).
Dr Brady also talked about her own background which, following the completion of her PhD in the field of Church and political history, included heading up the Council for Justice and Peace for the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference and six years as General Secretary of the Irish Council of Churches, before joining CTBI in January 2022.
