Housing Justice is marking the Diamond Jubilee of the Catholic Housing Aid Society (CHAS) with a celebration mass. It will be held at St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, Westminster Bridge SE1 7HY on Thursday 19 May at 7pm.
Archbishop Peter Smith will celebrate mass while the Rt Rev James Langstaff, Bishop of Rochester, will give an address.
There will be a drinks reception at 8pm.
There are also resources on the Housing Justice website to celebrate 60 years of fighting homelessness and housing need. They include the Jubilee Prayer, written by Housing Justice Chair, the Rt Rev James Langstaff, and the ‘Diamond Challenge’.
CHAS merged with the Churches National Housing Coalition in 2003 to become Housing Justice.
