CTBI Website Re-Launches

April 13, 2015 By Web Editor

New CTBI website

Press Release

For immediate release

13 April 2015

The new dynamic website for Churches Together in Britain and Ireland is now live.  Taking on a refreshed look and format, the website has been developed with the user in mind, allowing for easy navigation and way-finding around the site.  The CTBI website acts as a hub of communication, delivering key information and guidance to bridge understanding of issues in today’s society and offers publications and free resources to guide reflection and prayer as well as study materials to celebrate key Christian events.

www.ctbi.org.uk provides users instant up-to-date information with current RSS feeds from member churches and other selected organisations on the homepage enabling the website to be used as a news reel for current issues.  The website’s new navigational menu headings of Witnessing Together, Spirituality and Reflection, Mission and Unity, and Theology reflects CTBI’s Strategic Plans spanning the next 7 years which look at aligning with objectives emerging from the 10th Assembly of the World Council of Churches which took place in Busan, Republic of Korea in 2013.

The dynamic features of the website allow for instant user interaction by utilising social media channels to engage and interact with the wider audience.  Holding a vast library of documents and resources, the website also allows the user to search for materials, both current and previous, quickly and easily with fewer distractions. In addition, improved accessibility across media platforms enables users of smartphones, tablets and traditional computers to access information as and when they need it at their convenience.

CTBI is very excited to launch this visually appealing website and move into a more dynamic, current and vibrant setting.

Background on Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI)

The successor body to the British Council of Churches, CTBI’s vision has been to serve the Churches of Britain and Ireland on the shared journey towards (full) visible unity in Christ.

CTBI is a strong fellowship of churches, Bodies in Association and Agencies, listening, learning, celebrating and witnessing together and works through the systematic involvement and accountability to member churches and ecumenical partners in the planning and implementation of joint work on unity, mission and public witness. Working with church members across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, CTBI is the common voice for these Christian institutes.

CTBI provides resources, information, ecumenical support, theological guidance and Christian unity.  CTBI is an effective communications operator and provides a platform for sharing stories and raising voices from its member churches and fellow ecumenical partners.
