This conference, Eastern Christian Tradition in the World Today: Dialogues, Ecumenism, Theology and Ecclesiology, is organised by The Centre for Eastern Christianity, Heythrop College, University of London and takes place on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th June 2018.
The conference seeks to engage with the various modern and contemporary challenges and contexts that the Eastern Christian tradition confronts today. Keynote lectures include Christianity in the Middle East – challenges and contexts, from Hratch Tchilingiran; The Syriac Tradition and East-West Christian Ecumenism by Sebastian Brock; and Christianity and Muslim-Christian relations in Syria Today: reflections on a recent visit from Erica Hunter.
Other contributors include CTBI’s Peter Colwell talking on From Crisis to Grace: Theological Reflections on Developing Trends in Jewish-Catholic relations, through aspects of the work of David Neuhaus SJ.
