Churches Together in England’s review of 2017 looks back at its work and issues during 2017, including the anniversaries of the Reformation and the Swanwick Declaration, Behind Closed Doors human trafficking report, They Also Served project looking at the contribution of Black African and Caribbean servicemen and servicewomen to WW1, and Church relationships.
It also reports on the CTE Board’s decision to fund research by the Theos think tank into the next phase of CTE’s ecumenical journey which resulted in the report That they may all be one: insights into Churches Together in England and contemporary ecumenism. CTE has started working on new strategic objectives which will re-align it with the mission focus suggested by Theos’ research.
The report also notes the retirement of the present CTE General Secretary, the Revd Dr David Cornick, in September 2018, to be succeeded by the Revd Dr Paul Goodliff beginning part-time from July 2018 and becoming full-time in September 2018.
