Churches were called to work tirelessly towards forming communities of belonging for people of all abilities at the ecumenical Living Fully 2016 event in Rome on 26 June.
The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture was a co-patron of the conference, with Bishop Paul Hendricks, Catholic Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Southwark, calling for churches to foster such ‘communities of belonging’.
We need to ‘stop assuming and start listening’ in order to better understand the perspectives of those looking for greater inclusion, said Bishop Hendricks.
