Organisations across Scotland are raising awareness of poverty and what needs to be done to tackle it, during this week organised by The Poverty Alliance.
Many people in Scotland have unhelpful views about poverty and during the week free training is available on the best ways to talk about poverty to help overcome this. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Frameworks Institute have carried out research into views on poverty and what techniques can be used to change them. The Poverty Alliance wants to help members and supporters to use these frames and messages to talk about poverty in a helpful way, and is offering free half-day training sessions with a focus on how to engage with local media.
Events taking place during the week are published on the Challenge Poverty Week website.
Resources are also available for those taking part in the week.
