This report from the Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) aims to summarise some of the current concerns of European churches on EU asylum and migration policy – a policy which also heavily influences asylum and migration policies in countries outside the EU. The publication describes the problematic reality of EU policies, explains some key concepts and discusses possible policy alternatives for ‘safe passage’ as supported by churches in Europe – for more humane asylum and migration policies based on human dignity and the sanctity of human life.
