Campaign group End Hunger in the UK, which includes Church Action on Poverty, is encouraging supporters to email their MP to support the Holiday Food Provision Bill which is being presented to the Houses of Parliament on 5 September 2017. Over 100 MPs have already declared their support, but more are needed.
While many children from low-income families are entitled to free school meals during term time, there is currently no such provision during holidays. A recent report by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hunger found that as many as three million children faced the risk of food insecurity during the summer holiday.
You can email your MP via an online form.
